You can choose from our Kimberley Tagalong tours or “Old Ghan Heritage Trail” tagalong pre-planned itineraries or have Dave plan a designer tour to suit you.

Dave has recently taken over Noel Battersby’s business Aussie Leisuretime Travel.

Through this subsidiary business Dave now provides pre-planned personalized tours.

Dave can design & guide tagalong tours for 4WD club groups interested in seeing places not on the regular tourist routes. Whatever your group has in mind, put your 4WD skills to the test, a scenic tour of the Outback, maybe a combination of both.

With Dave’s extensive knowledge of the outback he can build on your ideas.

Adelaide to Alice Springs, Alice Springs to Adelaide, Alice Springs to the Kimberley in NW Western Australia and on to Darwin, Ayers Rock & The Olgas, Kings Canyon, the MacDonnell Ranges, The Flinders Ranges, they are all regions Dave knows well.

Traveling through the outback can be hazardous for the inexperienced, Dave has a 35 year history living and working in the Outback, from Conductor on the “Old Ghan Railway” to driving road trains on the “Birdsville Track” & “Oodnadatta Track” to film location & major event logistics.

Born at Hawker in the Flinders Ranges, Dave began work at the age of 16 on the original Old Ghan Railway, he has had a continued association with the whole of the Outback region through:

· Operating road trains transporting cattle on the Birdsville, Strzelecki and Oodnadatta Tracks.

· Fencing on the Strzelecki Track and Dog (Dingo) Fence.

· Mining Talc in the Northern Flinders Ranges.

· Coal Mining at Leigh Creek.

· Opal mining at Coober Pedy where he lived for 14 years.

· Gold exploration on upper Eyre Peninsula and the Gawler Ranges.

· Conducting coach tours from Alice Springs to Ayers Rock.

· Originator and original driver of the famous “Mail Run” day tour between Oodnadatta, William Creek and Coober Pedy.
