Dave Burge, a.k.a “The Outback Man”

 

The Outback can be an inhospitable region for the inexperienced,

Dave Burge is trained and certified in:

 

·          4WD operation and safety

·          Outback Search and Rescue

·          Outback Survival

 

Well known throughout Outback SA, Dave won the 2001 award for

"Contribution by an individual" to business in Northern SA.

The result of Dave and his crew's efforts promoting

the Outback as a destination over the past 25 years.

 

He has also been awarded an SA Great Commendation Certificate

 and NT Tourism nomination certificates.

This is the only statuatory accreditation recognised in South Australia. Dave Burge's boyhood family home at Wonoka station on the Old Ghan railway line, Flinders Ranges South Australia. It is a requirement of the South Australian Department of Environment & Heritage that commercial tour operators be licensed to operate in South Australian National Parks, many are not.
